Watercolour landscapes of Essex, Maldon

These are a collection of watercolours from my home town Maldon in Essex. I guess like many people growing up you do not appreciate a place you spend a lot of time in.  It really is a great place with lots of salt marshes, countryside and wildlife all close at hand.  Its easy to get inspired for painting.

The skies tend to be huge as its such a flat place there is little to break up the horizon.  It has a proud maritime history with plenty of sailing boats and Maldon barges too, with their trademark brown sails.
